BIOGRAPHY

Her journey began in the realm of DANCE, where she not only performed but also taught and choreographed. Her dance background includes notable appearances on platforms like SWF3 TV (Germany), FR3 TV Alsace, and the Strasbourg Opera House. She shared her Jazz Dance expertise in Municipal Dance Schools such as Schiltigheim, Erstein, and Hoenheim, while creating her own dance company “Profil”, lending her choreography skills to entities like Eurodisney and various events. 

Liza Michael is a multi-talented artist with a career spanning across various facets of the entertainment industry.

In addition to her dance abilities, Liza enriched her journey with SINGING under the guidance of Jean-Marc Pivard in Strasbourg and Richard Cross in Paris. To enhance her musical prowess, she honed her vocal jazz skills with Pascal Pallamidessi, the founder of the Funambule Jazz Club in Strasbourg. , She then earned her “triple threat” label cultivating her ACTING proficiency with Tom Radcliffe and Gary Condes (Meisner Technique - the Actor’s Temple, London), Mrs. Sarah Eigerman (F.A.C.T. Paris), Tim McDonnell (Focus Theatre, Dublin), and Jean Lorrain (Strasbourg).  

Liza's singing versatility has been finding its expression from intimate gatherings to larger ensembles like the Glen Miller Memorial Orchestra, the Marc Goldfeder’s Orchestra, the Chance Orchestra, the James Brown Tribute Show

and even the prestigious Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra., while deep creative collaborations with pianist and composer Damien Roche, multi-instrumentalist Marco Agoudetse, and bassist Zizou Sadki led her to the creation of Hot Couture, the first mash-up live band.

Her vocal contributions includes albums like "13 Jours En France" with Francis Lai & his Orchestra, The Glenn Miller Memorial Orchestra's Live CDs, the children fable “Angelino, Baba & les Mange-Mil” and soundtracks for TV series “Chante” (FR2) and TV film “Generation Start Up” by Arnaud Selignac, as well as for theatre productions like “Laramie Project” in Vingtieme Theatre.

Liza had the pleasure to work with composer Michel Legrand, composer Francis Lai, jazz guitarist & crooner Sacha Distel (The Good Life), jazz singer Henri Salvador (Syracuse), jazz guitarist Bireli Lagrene, bassist Linley Marthe (Zawinul), Trumpeter Ludovic Louis (Kravitz, Sting, …), French singers Zazie (Sol En Cirque), Johnny Halliday, Sylvie Vartan and Herbert Leonard .

It’s quite naturally that the scope of Liza Michael’s skills flourished in musical theatre :

  • in "Metropolita(-i)n" on Broadway under the direction of Broadway composer Barry Kleinbort, and authors Ken. Bloom and Christophe Mirambeau. 

  • in Alexandre Bonstein’s “Creatures”, the outside-the-box musical directed by Alan Kinsella in Andrew’s Lane Theatre in Dublin, Ireland and at Vingtieme Theatre and Theatre de la Renaissance in Paris France over a 8 year period

  • in “Simenon & Josephine” (Royal Opera of Wallonie in Belgium) by Opera director Jean-Louis Grinda who also directed her in Zazie’s “Sol En Cirque” at Bataclan and Porte de Vincennes

  • in ”Hair” by theatre director Jacques Rosny at Mogador Theatre in Paris and in Gilles Ramade’s version at Halles aux Grains in Toulouse, France

  • in Sacha Distel’s musical project “Chevalier” with theatre director Alain Marcel

Having studied English literature for 2 years, Liza Michael also uses her skills to adapt and translate plays from English to French (L. Wilson's "Balm in Gilead" for Matthew C. , E. Bogosian's "Wake Up & Smell the Coffee", N. LaBute's "Shape Of Things", ...) 

Liza who has been nurturing a long musical relationship with the Park Hyatt Tokyo Jazz Club, has just concluded her 6th Residency in Tokyo and a new residency in Bangkok.
